85-Year-Old Woman Critical After Hit-And-Run: Philly Police

Police said a dark gray Ford Fusion hit an 85-year-old woman crossing Chestnut Street last week. The woman is in critical condition.

PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are asking for help locating a vehicle involved in a ht-and-run that left an 85-year-old woman in critical condition.

The incident occurred at about 12:27 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 at 21st and Chestnut streets.

A dark gray Ford Fusion was heading south on 21st Street, making a left turn on to Chestnut Street, when it struck the woman who as also going south on 21st Street.

Police said the woman was in the crosswalk, crossing Chestnut, when she was struck.

Both the woman and Ford had green traffic signals, police said.

After striking the woman, the vehicle drove off, police said. It was last seen turning left onto northbound 20th Street.

The woman was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where she is in critical condition.

Police described the striking vehicle as a 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion with a sunroof, chrome front grille, sport alloy wheels.
