Auto Club offers free roadside assistance for medical professionals, first responders, and essential workers traveling in the City of Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 17, 2020) – AAA, the premier roadside assistance provider for more than 100 years, is offering local heroes traveling in the City of Philadelphia (PA) a little peace of mind as they work to keep our communities safe and healthy.

Free Roadside Assistance for Healthcare, First Responders and Essential Workers
AAA Mid-Atlantic is providing roadside assistance services to medical professionals, first responders and essential personnel traveling in the City of Philadelphia (PA) at no charge. The free services include:

- tire change,
- lockout service,
- fuel delivery,
- jump start,
- battery replacement service (installation free of charge; battery cost will reflect current member pricing and taxes)
“Frontline workers are spending tireless hours protecting us while at work, and we want to protect them on their journey there and back,” said Jana L. Tidwell, manager, Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “Medical professionals, first responders, and essential workers put themselves at risk every day. AAA wants to make sure they are taken care of if they have car trouble during this critical time.”
Medical professionals, first responders and essential workers do not need to be AAA members and service calls must be located within the City of Philadelphia (PA). Membership/Car Care Offers for First Responders, Healthcare Professionals
In addition, new offers for first responders and health care professionals who must travel to work include a free oil change and other Car Care savings, 50% off primary dues for new Members and one free associate membership for existing Members and will be available through May 1. “We appreciate the tireless dedication of our health care workers, first responders, and law enforcement partners who are steadfastly doing their jobs during this challenging time,” said Barry Cooperman, manager, AAA South Philadelphia Car Care Center. “Our teams are actively helping these heroes so that their vehicles are ready when they need them.”
- Membership: 50% off primary dues plus one free associate, 50% off a second associate and $5 off annual renewal.
- Automotive: Free Standard Oil Change or $35 off a full synthetic oil change at a AAA Car Care, Insurance and Travel Center, tires at cost plus $19.99 installation. Curbside drop-off service is available along with complimentary LYFT service for those who call ahead.
These membership and automotive offers apply to residents of the AAA Mid-Atlantic service area which includes the Philadelphia 5-county area, parts of New Jersey and the state of Delaware.
Keeping Cars Clean
In the interest of public health and in support of government recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19, AAA also offers the following recommendations to help people keep their cars clean while staying at home.
- Be sure to clean and wipe down the inside of the vehicle including steering wheel, gear shift, door, dashboard, seat, door handle, seat belts and any exposed surfaces using a damp cloth with a small amount of soap. It is best to avoid any cleaners with alcohol or bleach – this may dry the leather/vinyl, causing it to crack and discolor. ###liproducts that meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
- Make sure you clean your hands after filling your vehicle with gas using a disinfecting wipe when touching a keypad or gas pump handle. And don’t forget about your keys and fobs as well. ,>
