Adoptions From The Heart Announces Fall Educational Series

WYNNEWOOD, PA - Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH) is excited to announce its 2026 Fall Educational Series, a collection of virtual educational opportunities designed to provide families with practical information, guidance and insight throughout their adoption journeys.

Hosted on Zoom, the Fall Educational Series allows families from across AFTH’s service area to participate from wherever they are. The series offers opportunities to learn from adoption professionals, medical experts, adoptive parents and birthparents about topics that can help families navigate the adoption experience and prepare for the lifelong journey of open adoption. The classes also fulfill AFTH’s continuing education requirements for families in the process.

Talking to Your Child About Their Adoption Story
Tuesday, October 20 | 7:00–8:30 p.m. | $40/family

Kelly Raudenbush, Executive Director and Family Therapist at The Sparrow Fund, will provide practical guidance and supportive language for talking with children about their adoption stories in age-appropriate ways. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions about parenting an adoptee and supporting their child’s understanding of adoption.

Adoptive Parent Panel
Thursday, October 22 | 6:00–7:30 p.m. | $40/family

Adoptive parents will share firsthand experiences from their adoption journeys, including navigating long waits, disappointments and disruptions, as well as the experiences that ultimately led them to their families. Participants can hear directly from other adoptive families, ask questions, and gain insight into the realities of the adoption process.

Birthparent Panel: Navigating Future Open Adoption Communications
Thursday, November 5 | 7:00–8:30 p.m. | $40/family

Birthparents will share their experiences navigating open adoption relationships after placement, including communication within the adoption triad, building and maintaining healthy relationships, and addressing challenges that may arise over time. The panel will offer practical insight into creating supportive, respectful, and lasting open adoption relationships.

“Education is an important part of preparing families for the realities of adoption and the lifelong relationships that can come with it,” said Nicole Fowler, Director of Social Services of Adoptions From The Heart. “Through this series, families have the opportunity to learn from professionals and, importantly, hear directly from people who have experienced adoption firsthand.”

Registration closes one week before each class, and space is expected to fill quickly. A link to join each webinar will be emailed to registered participants one to two business days after registration.
