Search For Man In Delaware River Conducted In Philadelphia

Police were told that a man entered the water near Penn's Landing and never resurfaced

An investigation is underway after Philadelphia Police were told a man went into the Delaware River and never resurfaced Wednesday, according to reports. (June Bakan/Patch)

PHILADELPHIA — Search efforts resumed Thursday for a man who went missing after entering the Delaware River, according to Philadelphia Police.

Officers were called just before 7 p.m. to 101 S Christopher Columbus Blvd., at Penn's Landing. They were told a 37-year-old man entered the water and never resurfaced.

It's unclear whether he entered the river on purpose or by accident.

Authorities searched the water that night but found no sign of him. The search resumed Thursday morning.

The investigation remains active.
