Authorities believe he has now fled Philadelphia and possibly the state, and are seeking additional victims and tips as they prepare felony and misdemeanor charges tied to the Center City attacks.
• Philadelphia a finalist to host 2028 Democratic National Convention (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Philadelphia is now one of three finalists to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, a decision that could bring hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity and thousands of jobs to the city. Local and state leaders are lobbying hard, pointing to recent major events and Pennsylvania's swing-state status as reasons Philadelphia is ready to host again.
• Philadelphia small businesses and social clubs plead for legalization of skill games (whyy.org) — Philadelphia social clubs and small businesses are urging Harrisburg lawmakers to quickly legalize and regulate skill-game machines that help keep their doors open. With a state Supreme Court deadline looming in October, Philly legislators are backing bills that could tax and cap the games, while casinos and anti-gambling advocates push competing visions for how — or whether — they should operate.
