Arrest Made In Burglary, Child Sex Assault Case: Philadelphia Police

A 28-year-old man is in custody after police said he broke into a home, then sexually assaulted a juvenile inside it, in mid-September.

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities in Philadelphia have captured a man they said broke into a home and sexually assaulted a juvenile inside it.

Tyreek Collier, also known as Tyreek Jackson, 28, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody Tuesday.

He is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, burglary, and more crimes, court records show.

The charges stem from a Sept. 18 incident on the 3000 block of Cottman Avenue.

At about 2:30 a.m., authorities said a man broke into a home on that block.

After getting inside, police said he sexually assaulted a juvenile.

That same man was seen trying residential doors in the immediate area of the burglary and sexual assault, police said.

Collier is being held after failing to post $350,000 and is scheduled for an Oct. 18 preliminary hearing, according to court documents.
