  1. Philadelphia police have arrested 24-year-old Edwin Vargas for the deadly ambush on January 9 in the city's Mayfair section. Home security cameras from neighbors show a horrible shooting of four men returning from a shopping trip with over 50 bullet casings left on the street. Christopher Batista, 18, Miguel Delgado, 19, and Miguel Santos, 24, were all killed in the shooting. A fourth victim, identified as a 28-year-old, was hospitalized in critical condition.(6abc Philadelphia)
  2. How bad is gun violence in Philadelphia when the son of a top cop is arrested for having an illegal stolen firearm? Cordell Poplar, 19, son of Roosevelt Poplar, the vice-president of the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police, was arrested in North Philly for allegedly having a Glock .40 caliber pistol loaded with 14 live rounds. The firearm was reported to be stolen from Georgia. (fox29.com)
  3. When's your train gonna get here? Is the EL ever coming? No more looking down the tracks for that lone headlamp in the tunnel. SEPTA is planning on installing countdown clocks at every station of the Market-Frankford Elevated Train Line to let riders know when the next train will be arriving. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
