Bernie Sanders To Speak In Philly At Lt Gov Candidate Rally May 4

Sanders, a 2016 presidential candidate, will stump for Democratic Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor candidate John Fetterman.

PHILADELPHIA – Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Philadelphia Friday, May 4 to attend a rally for Democratic Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor candidate John Fetterman.

Sanders and Fetterman, who rose to province as the Mayor of Braddock Borough in Allegheny County and then in his bid for U.S. Senate in 2016, will be at the North Apron of City Hall Friday for the rally.

Fetterman is running for Pennsylvania's Lieutenant Governor position this year.

Doors to the event open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. The rally is set to conclude at 8 p.m.

Sanders and Fetterman share similar progressive ideals and both have a similar history in campaigns: Fetterman lost the Democratic senate primary to Katie McGinty (who then lost to Pat Toomey) in 2016, and Sanders lost the Democratic presidential primary to Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Fetterman endorsed Sanders in the 2016 presidential race.

Other than Sanders, Fetterman has received endorsements from former Gov. Ed Rendell and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto.
