Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:
- Where do your grandparents go to brunch after seeing your art show at University of Pennsylvania? Well, UPenn student artist Maisley Biden took her grandparents, Joe and Jill Biden to Parc in Rittenhouse Square! We're sure the prez picked up the bill! (Philadelphia, PA Patch)
- Could the horse and carriages that clop-clop around Historic Philadelphia become "horseless carriages?" One Philly woman plans to unveil the city's first electric horseless carriage on July 4th. For years, Janet White has been fighting and advocating for the horses to be free from cruelty and abuse of the carriage industry. (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
- At least seven times, Philadelphia Police Officers radioed for backup as hundreds of drag racers and the crowd that follows them surrounded police vehicles and started slashing tires and vandalizing police cruiser's windows and doors. The drag racing mob took over North 5th Street in Spring Garden on Saturday just after midnight. The convoy took them through the streets of Northern Liberties into Fishtown near Rivers Casino leaving destruction in their paths. (Philadelphia, PA Patch).
