📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Philadelphia who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Philadelphia Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. At least one of Stacie Nola's sons will be going to the World Series. Her sons are Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola and Padres catcher Austin Nola. She swears she doesn't have a favorite. (inquirer.com)
  2. Yaaseen Bivins was out on bail when police say he allegedly took part in a shooting of five teens outside Roxborough High School. Bivens was convicted of plowing his car into a pregnant woman and killing her unborn baby while drag racing. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office didn't ask the judge to revoke his bail and jail him while he awaited sentencing. He now stands accused of the shooting death of 14-year-old Nicolas Elizalde. (inquirer.com)
  3. Philadelphia Police Union President John McNesby is calling the recent audit of the police department political theater. McNesby tied the critical report to City Controller Rebecca Rhynhart's interest in running for mayor. He said, "If you want to run for mayor, we wish you luck, but don't do it on the backs of hard-working police officers in the city of Philadelphia. (fox29.com)

  • Wawa tried to jumpstart Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber's at bats with a $5 hoagie special named Schwarberfest. It worked as Schwarber belted a 120 mph homerun that sailed into the upper deck of Petco Park in San Diego. (6abc Philadelphia)
  • Camp Tebow in the Poconos? Heismann Trophy winner and one-time preseason player for the Philadelphia Eagles Tim Tebow bought 3,000 acres up in the Pocono Mountains and plans to build a camp for children. P.S. The Haas family, the Philadelphia chemical-maker powerhouse, helped him with this touchdown of a development. (inquirer.com)
  • Ya know your dog REALLY loves it when you dress him up for Halloween. He can't wait for you to take selfies with him and post it on Facebook and Instagram. In fact, why not dress him up and take him to "Hound-O-Ween," Philly's largest pet Halloween contest in NoLibs. (Wooder Ice)
