Hot Winter Bods is a sketch comedy group from Philadelphia, PA that performs sketches that range from goofy to outlandish. They spoof, they riff, they accuse their partners of having sex with groundhogs -- all is fair in love, war, and sketch comedy! Hot Winter Bods performs regularly all around Philadelphia, including at Vox Populi, Sawubona Creativity Project, and Play &amp; Players.
Dan Burger took everything he learned in comedy over the past 10 years to write his solo sketch show full of physical comedy, unique characters, and bits built for the live stage. Get ready for a fourth-wall breaking show full of kinetic energy whose goal is to leave people saying “I’ve never seen anything like that!”. Dan has written and performed in sketch groups like Big Ol’ Mess (Denver) and Bonus Feature (LA), and performed in comedy festivals all across North America. Now, he is based in Los Angeles studying and performing at The Groundlings, UCB, and Pack Theatre.

This Is (Not) a Celebration: Queer Resistance, 1976/2026 reveals the history of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ organizing, activism, and protest during the Bicentennial through rarely seen archival materials and the work of three local artists; Scarlett DeLorme, Justin Jain, and Amy Cousins, whose work engages with these stories through a contemporary lens.
Within the civic reflection of the 250th of the United States, This Is (Not) a Celebration shifts the focus from commemoration to resistance. Organized by the William Way LGBT Community Center, artists were invited to create work in dialogue with materials from the Center’s John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives—the most extensive collection documenting the history of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ community. Scarlett DeLorme's wet plate photography, Justin Jain's ceramics, and Amy Cousins’ print and fiber installations insist that 1976 was not a moment of patriotic consensus, but one of queer defiance.This exhibition is only display through July 3rd.

In 1790, Charles Willson Peale opened a museum containing "objects of natural history and things useful and curious" to represent the culmination of a long and distinguished career in art and science that made Peale one of the most remarkably versatile figures of his age. Using images of Peale's collections of paintings and artifacts, Peck will place the museum in its broader cultural, artistic and scientific context in post-revolutionary America. After the lecture, attendees are encouraged to stay for the Wagner’s Annual Member Reception with wine &amp; nibbles in the Exhibit Hall. Enjoy refreshments, exchange ideas with fellow members, and explore the Wagner's vast natural history collection at this special evening event. The lecture is free for everyone. Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

Join us for the Exhibition Reception of The Birth by Low-Residency MFA alum, SEIVIN. Shortly after graduating from the MFA program in the summer of 2025, SEIVIN was invited to create an installation in the Broad Street Studio at the front of the Hamilton Building. Known for elaborate and colorful site-specific tape installations, he transformed the glass gallery into a dynamic, entangled experience solely using tape.
Inspired by the nature of the Broad Street Studio itself, he explored the tension between visibility and interiority and focused on creating an experience that viewers could enter, not just observe. Through an organic process of layering and interweaving bands of tape, he embraced the unexpected forms that began to emerge as the material amassed together and eventually resembled the shape of a womb—an enclosed, living form inviting viewers to enter and pass through.
A celebration of birth and renewal, the installation and the passageway it invites suggest the moment when all humans begin equally—before the restrictions of societal boundaries or meanings. Naturally echoing this idea of equity and diversity, the colors of the tape represent a different race, a different identity—all intertwining to create a single living organism of connection and coexistence. What each strand holds individually, the whole holds together. The Birth reminds us that our first enclosure was not one that divided us, but one that held us together.
Reflecting on the process of entering the completed work himself, the artist recalls his own unexpected experience of being reborn—an experience that punctuated the core of the piece: that beneath all the differences that define us—race, culture, language, skin color—there is a shared essence, a common origin we all carry.

About the artist:
SEIVIN is an American artist based in Wilmington, Delaware, who investigates the unintended visual language that emerges within transitional spaces such as construction sites. Working across installation, painting, and material reconstruction, he focuses on peripheral elements—temporary tape, traces left by workers' movements, raw materials, and incidental accumulations. By displacing functional materials from their original context and repositioning them between image and structure, he reveals the formal logic latent in incomplete and provisional states.
SEIVIN received his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (Low Residency, 2025) and his B.A. from Syracuse University (2007). Notable solo projects include a performance and installation in Sam Chung Dong, Seoul (2020) and the installation The Birth at Broad Street Studio, Philadelphia (2025/2026). His work has been the subject of critical writing by art critic Jae Gul Lee and art writer Elizabeth Johnson, whose 2026 essay examined the relationship between construction sites and the unconscious in his practice.
He finds artistic possibility in the spaces most people pass by without a second glance—places considered far removed from aesthetic value.

Join the Museum of the American Revolution and the Philadelphia Historic District 250th Committee to celebrate its Philadelphia First U.S. Army (1775) with a Saturday Firstival on June 13, 2026 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The event is part of the citywide 52 Weeks of Philly Firsts celebration, a yearlong initiative highlighting Philadelphia’s pioneering spirit and 250 years of firsts in freedom, innovation, and fun. The Philadelphia Historic District 250th Committee created the 52 Weeks of Firsts for the 2026 Semiquincentennial year, taking place across the City of Philadelphia in over a dozen neighborhoods.
Director of Collections and Exhibitions Matthew Skic and the Historic District Partners will give special remarks during the event, followed by a story about the first Continental Army.
