The Junior League of Philadelphia (JLP) is kicking off recruitment for its 2026–2027 league year with a series of information sessions throughout the summer. Prospective members will have the opportunity to meet current members, learn about the League's mission of advancing women's leadership through volunteer action, collaboration, and community impact, and discover how they can make a meaningful difference across the Greater Philadelphia region. As part of the in-person recruitment events, the JLP is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and will be collecting new toys, games, and craft supplies to benefit local youth.&nbsp;

The Colonial Theatre

This July, Phoenixville’s favorite movie monster oozes back into town for an epic three-day takeover at the historic Colonial Theatre during the 27th annual Blobfest. The festival, which is set to take place from July 10 to 12, pays homage to the Colonial’s starring role in the 1958 Steve McQueen classic. This year’s Blobest theme, Cirque Du Blobfest,&nbsp; offers a captivating, carnival-inspired twist on the beloved cult classic, providing a more immersive, theatrical, and wildly entertaining way to experience The Blob than ever before. New events include a Friday Night Immersive Screening &amp; Run-Out, featuring a pre-show led by a ringmaster, followed by a Rocky Horror Picture Show-style screening of The Blob. Audiences won’t just watch the film; they’ll become part of the action before recreating the iconic theatre run-out scene. The public is also invited to attend Dinner en Blob, a brand-new Blobfest event inspired by the beloved Dinner en Blanc tradition, with a twist.
