As a part of the Sisterly Love Collective's 2026 Cookbooks & Convos festival, a family-style dinner honoring Edna Lewis's landmark 1976 cookbook, The Taste of Country Cooking, will be held at Honeysuckle. Honeysuckle is a James Beard-recognized restaurant run by Chef Cybille St. Aude-Tate and Chef Omar Tate, built around ancestry, nourishment, and reclamation.
The evening will feature Toni Tipton-Martin, the award-winning culinary historian behind The Jemima Code and Jubilee, and author of the foreword to the new 50th-anniversary edition of The Taste of Country Cooking, in conversation with Chef Cybille. Tipton-Martin is a three-time James Beard Award winner and 2025 Lifetime Achievement honoree. Together, Tipton-Martin and Chef Cybille will explore Edna Lewis’s enduring influence, the importance of preserving culinary history, and the ways her work continues to inform contemporary cooking.
Following the conversation, enjoy an intimate three-course dinner inspired by The Taste of Country Cooking, with Chef Cybille and Chef Omar Tate interpreting Lewis’s recipes, ingredients, and philosophy through the lens of Honeysuckle.
Tickets are available on OpenTable for $150 per person. Each ticket includes a signed copy of the book, a three-course meal, and one welcome drink.
