- Picture it, Philadelphia, January, 2023 the morning rush hour outside Philadelphia City Hall. Traffic jams, commuters getting off trains and buses, lines for coffee and soft pretzels and then.....a gunshot. A man got out of his car and fired at least one shot into the air in front of Philadelphia City Hall during the Monday morning commute, police said. Luckily, the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office bike patrol were nearby and could be seen taking the suspected gunman into custody moments after the shooting. (nbcphiladelphia.com)
- Did they order the biscuits too? Nope, the wanted the other dough! Thieves stole yet another ATM in Philadelphia, an ongoing crime trend in the city .It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Popeyes restaurant on the 5600 block of Lancaster Avenue in Overbrook. Police say four suspects, two of whom were armed, walked out with the ATM. (6abc Philadelphia)
- Who knew the brass railings around City Hall were so valuable? A man has been arrested and charged for his role in the theft of a historic brass railing outside Philadelphia's City Hall, the district attorney's office said. Raymond Shendock is charged with burglary, institutional vandalism, theft and other crimes. Police released video of the suspect using a red shopping cart to transport a 20-foot section of an antique brass railing away from the building. It had been cut into small sections and was worth $20,000. (6abc Philadelphia)

- More hi-tech at PHL Airport, but can't they do something about the food? Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is installing facial biometric technology at 25 boarding gates in Terminals A-East and A-West to help U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) process departing passengers on international flights safely and efficiently. The facial biometrics process is designed to verify travelers' identities by comparing a live photo to images that the traveler has already provided to the government, such as passport and visa photos.
