City Offices Closing, Trash And Recycling Moving For Thanksgiving
Trash and recycling collections this week are being pushed back a day due to the holiday and the city's offices are closing.
PHILADELPHIA — Thanksgiving is Thursday, and that means the City of Philadelphia will curtail its services and close buildings in observance of the holiday.
Trash and recyclables will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Residents who have collection on Thursday should set out their trash and recycling for collection on Thursday evening after 5 p.m. for collection on Friday, Nov. 29. Residents who have collection on Friday should set out their trash and recycling for collection on Friday evening after 5 p.m. for collection on Saturday, Nov. 30.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Thanksgiving, as are the district offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the L&I License and Permit Center at the Municipal Services Building; the Marriage License Bureau; all Philadelphia Parks and Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches; and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations Branch at 9th and Filbert streets.
The Philadelphia Parking Authority also will not be enforcing meters, kiosks, or residential parking time limits on Thanksgiving.

All Philadelphia Department of Prisons facilities will be open to visitors on Thanksgiving. Executive offices will be closed.
City offices will reopen on Friday, Nov. 29.
