Comcast Expands Fiber-Powered Network to Lemon Hill in Philadelphia Ahead of Summer 2026 Festivities

Comcast has expanded its network to the Lemon Hill section of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, providing new connectivity to the area in time for the activities scheduled this summer.

The network expansion will provide city operations with Comcast Business services, including multi-gigabit, symmetrical Internet from America’s smartest and most reliable converged network. WiFi hotspots will support attendees celebrating all the World Soccer events that will be held there. Xfinity WiFi hotspots have also been permanently installed in the park and will be available for customers, delivering an added benefit for Xfinity Mobile devices that will enjoy speeds up to 1 Gig with WiFi PowerBoost when they auto-connect to those hotspots.

“Philadelphia will once again be in the international spotlight, and reliable connectivity is essential,” said Dan Bonelli, Regional Senior Vice President at Comcast. “By extending our network and Comcast Business capabilities to Lemon Hill, we’re supporting the City of Philadelphia and delivering the connectivity needed to share information and experiences seamlessly all summer long.”

The deployment will provide high‑speed wireless Internet access across key areas of Lemon Hill, complementing Comcast’s broader network investments throughout Philadelphia. The temporary and permanent infrastructure installations were made in close coordination with city officials to help meet the unique demands of high‑traffic, high‑visibility events.

In addition to supporting the events and activities happening this summer, the expanded WiFi coverage will provide long‑term benefits for the surrounding area, enhancing connectivity options for park visitors and community events at Lemon Hill for years to come. Comcast and Fairmount Park Conservancy also partnered on the Lemon Hill Spring Volunteer Series to make sure the gateway to the park is ready for its moment in the spotlight.
