- Pudding pops anyone? After years spent facing dozens of sexual assault allegations and being widely shunned by the entertainment industry and former fans, Bill Cosby said he thinks 2023 is the year he can make a comeback. During a radio interview on "WWGH Talk," Cosby told host Scott Spears "when I come out of this, I feel that I will be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience in-person knows me to be." - Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced the creation of a new unit that will crack down on carjackings in the city while working with the Gun Violence Task Force. The city is funding the unit with $1.5 million over the next six months. So far this year there have been more than 1,000 carjackings in Philadelphia. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Oh Dem Golden Slippers! The Mummers Parade hasn't taken place on its traditional New Year's Day date since 2020 due pandemic impacts and some inclement weather a year ago. But it's back for 2023 as thousands in colorful costumes strut their way down South Broad Street. Whether you're part of a local club taking part in the festivities, you're headed out to watch in the crowd, or you're just an uninterested Philadelphian wondering how you'll get around on Sunday, Jan. 1, here's everything you need to know about the 2023 Mummers Parade. Hundreds of pounds of lunchmeats and cheeses have been ruined because of these damned deli stickers that tear the packaging! It had to be said! (Crossing Broad)
- He probably flunked history. Multiple agencies were called to Independence Hall National Historical Park in Old City at about 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24 after a patrol officer found "a large fire engulfing the basement" at Carpenter's Hall said the National Park Service in a statement. The NPS believes it was arson. (Daily Voice)
