Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- Verity Beck, 43, has been arrested and charged with killing her parents after their dismembered bodies were found in their Jenkintown, Pa. home. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said that Verity shot both her parents then used a chainsaw and put parts of her parents into trash bags and had covered them up. She is charged with first-degree murder and third-degree murder and is being held without bail. (6abc Philadelphia)
- Who says video games cause violence? Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a North Philadelphia business while armed with a hammer. He entered the business to play video games and then attacked an employee with the hammer. (CBS Philly)
- Officials said a person was struck and killed on the eastbound side of a SEPTA track at the 11th Street Station Wednesday morning in Center City. Service on the Market-Frankford Line was rearranged, with shuttle buses taking riders between Spring Garden and 15th Street while SEPTA police investigated. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
