Deadly Pizza Shop Shooting Suspect Surrenders To Philadelphia Police

PHILADELPHIA — The man who Philadelphia Police said fatally shot another man outside a pizza shop has surrendered to authorities.

Philadelphia Police Sunday said Jamel Brunson, 48, turned himself into police Saturday.

Brunson has been charged with murder, firearm violations, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.

The shooting took place at about 12:07 a.m. Thursday outside Pete's Pizza on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue.

Police said the incident began with a minor, two-vehicle crash that may have involved road rage.

The two vehicles pulled over in front of the business, where the drivers argued before going into the shop. When inside, a physical altercation broke out, and that's when the gunman shot the victim, 26, in the head.
