Deadly Shooting On SEPTA Bus In Philadelphia: Police
A man in his late teens to early 20s was shot and killed Wednesday night on a Route 23 SEPTA bus in the Germantown neighborhood.
PHILADELPHIA — A man is dead after gunfire broke out on a SEPTA bus late Wednesday evening in Philadelphia.
The shooting occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on a Route 23 SEPTA bus on the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, according to police.
Police were called to the scene where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest and took him to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

The gunman got on the bus in a hoodie and a full head and face covering and started arguing with the victim, which became physical and ended with the shooting, police said.
SEPTA Transit Police Chief Charles Lawson said this is an all-too common occurrence on SEPTA apparatuses and in the city in general.

"Seemingly, everyone has access to a gun, and the propensity to use it over meaningless arguments is shocking," he said at a news conference Thursday.
No description of the shooter has been released, nor has the victim's identity as of Thursday morning.
