Flying Tire Kills Driver On I-95

The tire came off a pickup truck on Interstate 95 north and struck a vehicle on Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia, killing the driver.

PHILADELPHIA — A driver on Interstate 95 south died after a loose tire smashed into their vehicle's window early Friday morning.

The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. in the area between Front and Broad streets, according to Fox 29.

The tire hit the median, then hit the vehicle's windshield, trapping the 60-year-old driver, Action News reports.

Crews had to cut the vehicle's roof off to get access to the victim, who has not been identified.
