Driver Killed After Crashing Into Pole Sunday In Philadelphia: Police
Philadelphia Police said the crash occurred Sunday at Wissahickon Avenue and Clapier Street. The driver died, but the passenger survived.
PHILADELPHIA — A driver died after crashing into a traffic pole late Sunday night in Philadelphia, according to police said.
The crash occurred at about 10:57 p.m. at Wissahickon Avenue and Clapier Street.
According to police, the vehicle was heading south on the 5000 block of Wissahickon Avenue when it tried to turn left onto eastbound Clapier Street.

That's where it struck a traffic light pole, police said.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Temple University Hospital, where they died at 11:45 p.m.

A passenger in the vehicle is listed in stable condition, police said.
