Driver Who Hit Mom And Kids In Mayfair Was DUI: Philly Police
Zachary Lauer is facing aggravated assault while DUI and related charges after allegedly hitting the family with a car Tuesday night.

PHILADELPHIA – Police identified the man who is accused of hitting a mother and her two children with a vehicle and fleeing the scene Tuesday in the city's Mayfair section.
Zachary Lauer, 31, of Philadelphia, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault while driving under the influence, recklessly endangering the welfare of children, and related crimes, police said.
Lauer is accused of hitting a 35-year-old woman and her two young daughters, ages 3 and 4, at about 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 while the family walked on the 3200 block of Tyson Avenue, police said.

The family was walking down the street when a Honda Prelude heading south drove onto the sidewalk and hit them, as well as a fence, police said.
Lauer abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene with the 3 year old still pinned under the vehicle, police said.

Bystanders lifted the vehicle and pulled the child out from under it, according to police.
All three victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 3 year old trapped under the vehicle is in critical condition with burns to her body, police said.
The mother and 4 year old were treated for minor scrapes and pains, police said.
