Drivers In Philly Among Nation's 'Best' Somehow, Forbes Advisor Says

If you've driven in Philly, ranking its drivers among the nation's best is laughable. See how Forbes Advisor came to that conclusion here.

PHILADELPHIA — In Philadelphia, traffic laws, signs, line striping, and other safety measures often seem like suggestions to drivers.

Yet somehow, the findings from a Forbes Advisor analysis of the nation's 50 most populated cities shows Philadelphia has some of the "best" drivers in the country.

To determine the ranks, Forbes Advisor analyzed five key metrics in those cities. Those metrics focus on fatal crashes and include the number of people killed in fatal crashes per 100,000 city residents, and the number of fatal car accidents involving speeding per 100,000 city residents, and the number of fatal car accidents involving a drunk driver

According to Forbes Advisor, from 2017 to 2021 Philadelphia had an average of 7.47 fatal crashes, 1.23 involving a drunk driver, 0.09 involving a distracted driver, 2.14 involving speeding, and 7.11 total crashes, all per 100,000 residents in the city.
