DTLR Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of Down North Pizza
The retailer aims to highlight the Black-owned restaurant as part of its Dare to Live Right community initiative

On Saturday, March 26, DTLR, one of the country's most successful lifestyle retailers with over 240 stores in 19 states, partnered with Down North Pizza, a mission-based restaurant located in North Philadelphia, to celebrate its one-year anniversary by giving away free pizzas to local community members. The event started at 12 p.m. and customers enjoyed free pizzas – courtesy of DTLR.
The retailer aims to highlight the importance of mission-based and Black owned establishments like Down North Pizza as part of its “Dare to Live Right” initiative, which works collectively to engage and create programs to uplift and revitalize underserved communities.
Down North Pizza aims to provide quality comfort food with the mission of reducing recidivism rates in the Philadelphia community. The restaurant employs formerly incarcerated individuals to help erase employment barriers faced by formerly incarcerated men and women and provide culinary career opportunities.
