Ertz, 30, has been with the Eagles his entire career since he was drafted in 2013. He has broken multiple franchise records, including most receptions in a single season with 116, and most in a single game with 15. He's been a crucial part of the Birds' aerial attack for the last several years, and has earned three All-Pro selections during his career.

“He will always be a member of the Eagles family, not only because of what he accomplished on the field, but also because of the wonderful person, dedicated leader, and exemplary role model that he was for nine seasons in Philadelphia," Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said Friday.

The trade come as the rebuilding Eagles look to get younger and plan for the future. Gowan is just 23 and will become a part of the growing youth movement in Philadelphia headlined by Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and others.

Ertz said that he would continue his charity work in Philadelphia with the foundation that he runs with his wife. "Philadelphia is home," he said.
