Escaped Philly Prisoner Found Dead In Warehouse: Authorities
Inmate Gino Hagenkotter, 34, was found dead Monday in a Philadelphia warehouse after escaping custody on Nov. 30 while out on work duty.

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia authorities said the man who escaped Philadelphia Department of Prisons custody in late November was found dead Monday.
Gino Hagenkotter, 34, was found dead at about 2:28 p.m. Monday in a warehouse located on the 1100 block of E. Venango Street.
While Hagenkotter was initially unidentified after being found, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his identity through fingerprints.

His cause of death is still undetermined.
Emergency responders were called to the warehouse Monday for a report of an unresponsive man.

Philadelphia Fire Department Medics arrived and pronounced the man dead on location.
A preliminary investigation of the scene revealed a broken air vent and a pushed-out fan, suggesting forced entry. Additionally, a ladder was found lying nearby.
Hagenkotter escaped custody Nov. 30 while on work duty in the orchard behind the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Facility at 8201 State Road, Philadelphia officials said.
He was incarcerated at Riverside Correctional Facility for low level crimes, according to authorities.
