Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- A 27-year-old Philadelphia man has been charged with killing his 54-year-old dad and putting his body in a freezer, authorities announced. Thi Dinh's body was found face down with a bag over his head in a bloodied basement freezer on the 1200 block of Snyder Avenue early Dec. 23. His son, Jack Dinh was arrested the next day and has been charged. (Bucks Daily Voice)
- Seventy-six Carriage Tours has been providing horse carriage rides in Philadelphia since 1976, but you won't see them on the streets right now or in the near future. They've abruptly stopped. The stables on Hancock Street in Kensington are cleared out and a representative said 76 Carriage Tours was temporarily closed and is relocating. The company has been a target of animal rights activists for years, demanding they end the rides. (6abc Philadelphia)
- The 28th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service at Girard College kicked off Monday at 9 a.m. The event is the oldest and largest in the country.
In its 28th year, the event takes place mostly in person at the college after a surge of COVID-19 in 2022 prompted many activities to be held online. (cbsnews.com)

- Guess the NFL doesn't know Philly fans? The NFL scheduled the NY Giants at Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. Prime Time, Baby! And also, that gives us about 10 hours to pre-game! Eagles fans will have all day to tailgate leading up to Saturday night. They also won't have to worry about having to work the next day. All the more reason for Lincoln Financial Field to offer a significant home field advantage. (Bleeding Green Nation)
