FBI Agent Who Shot Dog Is Head Of Philly Field Office: Reports

Jacqueline Maguire, head of the FBI's Philadelphia Field Office, has been identified as the person who shot a dog in Center City Monday.

PHILADELPHIA — The FBI agent accused of shooting and killing a dog Monday night in Center City Philadelphia is reportedly the head of the bureau's Philadelphia office.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer and Action News, Jacqueline Maguire was the person who pulled the trigger during Monday's incident.

Sources identifying her remained anonymous.

The FBI Tuesday confirmed one of its agents shot an "aggressive" dog Monday.

"The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously," the FBI said in a statement. "We are working jointly with the Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI’s Inspection Division to investigate the incident."

The shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. on the 1500 block of Spruce Street outside the Touraine residential building.

Video circulating social media shows two dogs and another in a fight or a struggle.

One of the dog owners shot one of the dogs involved.

The dog that was killed is a 7-year-old rescue Pitbull named Mia.

"The Philadelphia Police Department is aware of this incident, we cannot confirm or ID anyone involved at this point of the investigation," Philadelphia Police said in a statement to Patch. "There is no other releasable information."

Maguire has no charges filed against her in connection with the incident, court records show.

Maguire was named head of the FBI's Philadelphia Field Office in October 2021, according to the bureau.
