Fire Department Vehicle Hits Pedestrian In Center City: Police

A woman was hit by the vehicle after it was involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle Wednesday morning in Center City, police said.

PHILADELPHIA — A woman and two others were hurt after a Philadelphia Fire Department and a civilian vehicle crashed in Center City, striking the woman, according to police.

Philadelphia Police said at about 10:17 a.m. Wednesday, the vehicle struck a 56-year-old woman after a crash with another vehicle at 21st and Market streets.

The vehicle was heading east on Market Street with its lights and sirens on when it collided with a 2007 Honda Accord heading south on 21st Street, police said.

Police said the vehicle his a building then the woman, who is now in stable condition a Hahnemann University Hospital after being trapped under the vehicle.

According to police, two people in the fire department vehicle were taken to Jefferson Hospital and are in stable condition.

Police did not make any arrests.
