FOX 29's Bob Kelly Punched In Face At Jersey Shore: Reports

One of Philadelphia's most recognizable TV reporters, Bob Kelly of FOX 29, was assaulted at a Jersey Shore bar Sunday, sources say.

PHILADELPHIA — FOX 29 reporter Bob Kelly, a familiar face to many television viewers in and around Philadelphia, was attacked over the weekend in an apparent TikTok challenge, according to multiple reports.

Kelly was attacked Sunday at Oar House Pub in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

In returning to air Tuesday, Kelly told "Good Day Philadelphia" that the incident was similar to a viral video of Cardi B that is circulating online. In that viral video, the rapper had a beverage thrown at her.

Kelly said his incident was similar: As the reporter was hosting an event at the bar, a young man tried to pour beer on Kelly's head.

The Inquirer reports Kelly tried to swat the beer away, and that's when the suspect punched Kelly in the face.

"I'm OK," he said. "It was a frightening, disturbing event that apparently was incited by this TikTok challenge."

Despite being shaken up but OK, Kelly was reporting live from Margate Tuesday morning, even hosting a segment on the storied Lucy the Elephant.
