Free Street Party To Show Off New Fishtown Eatery's Offerings
The Pineville is expected to open in the spring, but its owners are giving the neighborhood a preview with a free street party on Dec. 21.

PHILADELPHIA – Back in November, restaurateurs Andrew and Drew Abruzzese announced they will be opening an extension of Bucks County's Pineville Tavern in Fishtown, called simply "The Pineville." And next week, the father-son duo are throwing a street party in front of The Pineville – which is on track to open in the spring – to give the neighborhood a preview of what they can expect.
The outdoor celebration will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 beside the construction site that is the new two-story restaurant, located at 2448 E. Huntington St. in Philly's Fishtown neighborhood.
The free block party will feature some of the new signature menu items, including the award-winning Million $ Bacon Burger sliders, fried chicken, and complimentary craft beer samples from Yards Brewing Company.

"It’s an exciting time for us," Drew Abruzzese said. "Residents can see the transformation taking place at the corner of E. Huntington and Gaul Streets daily, and we thought hosting a preview street party would be a fun way to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood. Our party happens to fall on the same day as the Winter Solstice, so it will definitely be a festive atmosphere, but most importantly, the locals will get a first taste of what to expect at their new neighborhood tavern."
The Abruzzese describe The Pineville as an homage to the corner bars of yesteryear.

The new location will be a two-story, 2,500-square foot bar, restaurant and lounge located in the space formerly known as Yesterday's Tavern.
The Pineville's menu will differ from Pineville Tavern's, but will feature what Drew Abruzzese calls the eatery's "greatest hits," including house-made ravioli, "Bawlmer" crab Cakes, fried chicken, barbecue ribs, The
Million $ Bacon Burger, and more.
The Pineville will also feature locally-brewed craft beers on tap, Fishtown favorites such as Miller High Life and PBR, as well as Schaefer, Schmidt's and Schlitz, which were some of the only locally-brewed beers available when the Abruzzeses first took over The Pineville Tavern in 1989.
The Abruzzeses say the menu will be "elevated tavern fare" that will appeal to all kinds of people from millennials to longtime Fishtown residents.
