"The burger beat out creations from nearly three dozen Philadelphia-area restaurants and was the judges' favorite pick at Sunday's sixth annual Burger Brawl competition held at Xfinity Live! in South Philadelphia. The Pineville Tavern took the competition by storm — the only Bucks County participant — and it was the first time the historic tavern had ever entered the annual competition," the restaurant said in an announcement.

Here's how the Pineville Tavern describes its winning mouth-watering concoction: A hearty patty of ground chuck, rib, and brisket, snuggled into a potato roll from Conshohocken Bakery. The burger is topped with Cooper Sharp and American cheese, bacon-onion jam, and bacon made of cold-smoked belly that is then sliced with Aleppo pepper, cayenne and brown sugar before it is hot-smoked for eight hours. The sandwich is served with fries and coleslaw and normally sells for $15.

While the Burger Brawl win was a surprise to many, Pineville Tavern Chef and Owner Drew Abruzzese says he was not surprised.

“We’ve always known how delicious our burger is, and now Philadelphians finally know where to find the best-tasting burger in our region. It’s certainly worth the trip to Bucks County!”

The Pineville Tavern is located at 1089 Durham Road in Pineville.
