  1. Mother Nature isn't a baseball fan. Why else would heavy rains delay Game 3 of the World Series in Philadelphia? Now both teams (and their fans) scramble to schedule new game today. (inquirer.com)
  2. The $1 billion Powerball jackpot is creating a lot of buzz in Philadelphia. With a jackpot so high, lottery retailers are seeing longer than normal lines and more shared tickets between groups who want to better their odds. (WPVI-TV)
  3. During a hearing in federal court Monday, former labor leader John J. Dougherty said that he's struggling to come up with the cash to pay lawyers to represent him in his remaining criminal trials. He also submitted paperwork in early October laying the groundwork for him to possibly receive a court-appointed attorney. (msn.com)
