Golden, Jewel-Adorned Crown Stolen From Philly Church: Police
Philadelphia Police said the crown was stolen from the head of a Mary statue inside the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Saturday.
PHILADELPHIA — A bejeweled gold crown was stolen from a Philadelphia church over the weekend, according to police.
The theft occurred at about 1:04 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 21 S. 13th St.
Police said the suspect broke a stained-glass window to get inside the church.

After getting inside, the suspect stole a gold crown adorned with gems from the head of a Mary statue inside the church.
Authorities described the suspect as a man who was wearing a facemask, a black jacket, gray pants, and red or pink sneakers.
