Grocery Store Worker Shot By Customer: Reports

An employee at a Philadelphia ShopRite was shot by a customer in the grocer's parking lot Monday night, according to reports.

PHILADELPHIA — A grocery store employee is in critical condition after being shot by a customer in the store's parking lot Monday night.

A 23-year-old employee at ShopRite, 101 E Olney Ave., was shot at about 11 p.m. Monday, according to Action News.

NBC10 reports he was wrangling shopping carts when a customer, 30 years old, got into an argument with him.

The customer fired two shots, striking the worker twice in the stomach, according to Fox 29.

The worker was taken to a hospital where he is in critical condition and the customer, who was legally permitted to carry a firearm, stayed at the scene, reports state.
