Heavy Dump Truck Fire Temporarily Blocks I-76 In Philadelphia
The early-morning fire has been extinguished.
PHILADELPHIA — A dump truck caught fire early Tuesday, temporarily blocking Interstate 76 westbound in Philadelphia.
The truck caught fire around 5 a.m. just before the westbound City Avenue on-ramp to I-76 west, according to the Gladwyne Volunteer Fire company.
Arriving firefighters saw heavy flames in the engine/cab area, which were extinguished.

The westbound lanes of I-76 — locally known as the Schuylkill Expressway — were closed for just under an hour, officials said.
The Gladwyne Fire Company is looking for people to join their ranks.
