🌱The Hoagie Pandemic + Texas Bus Heads To Philly + Embiid's 59
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Philadelphia.

Hello again, neighbors! It's me, Patty-Pat Kozlowski, your host of the Philadelphia Daily. Come along for everything you need to know about what's happening around town, including updates on:
- In a city that loves hoagies, how worried should Philadelphians be about the listeria outbreak tied to deli meats?
- Philadelphia prepares for a possible migrant bus from Texas.
- Joel Embiid scores season-best 59 points against the Utah Jazz.
But first, today's weather:
Plenty of sunshine. High: 48 Low: 33.
Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- What would lunch be without ham, roast beef, pepperoni, salami, cappicola and turkey? The CDC is investigating a listeria outbreak believed to be linked to deli meats and cheeses. So far it has infected 16 people in six states, including New Jersey. Is your go-to hoagie order in danger? Pizza for lunch it is! (PhillyVoice)
- No, this has nothing to do with losing the World Series to Huston, Texas. Philadelphia is preparing to support and assist the latest group of asylum seekers from Texas. The mayor's office says about 52 migrants are busing in from the border city of Del Rio. (PA Patch)
- We know it's early in the season, but Let's Go Sixers! Joel Embiid had a season-high 59 points and 11 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers beats the Utah Jazz. This was one day after he had a season high of 42 points against the Hawks. "Whatever I need to do to win," he said. bozemandailychronicle.com

- CCP for 9th Graders - Dual Enrollment Info Night (6:00 PM)
From my notebook:
- Only in Pennsylvania-leave it to my beloved Keystone State to elect a State Representative that is no longer with us as he went to the Big Capitol in the sky. Voters in Pennsylvania did reelect the late state Rep. Tony DeLuca in Tuesday's midterm elections even though the 85-year-old Democrat died of cancer Oct. 9. (fox29.com)
- Craftsman Row Saloon, located at 112 S. 8th Street in the heart of Jewelers' Row, is kicking off the holidays with the return of its festive Christmas pop-up that is bigger and brighter than ever for the 2022 season. Now through January, the bar has transformed into a winter wonderland with more decor than ever before -- including over 50,000 ornaments, thousands of lights, 5,000 feet of garland, 100 wreaths, 50 nutcrackers, and hundreds of deer and Santa dolls. Oh, and holiday inspired milkshakes-one topped with a big ol hunk of pumpkin pie on top. (PhillyVoice)
- But the kids wanted to go to Disneyworld! Last week, a group of tourists reportedly landed at Philadelphia International Airport with elections on the brain. More than just the regular visit to Philly to tour the birthplace of U.S. democracy, it appears the crowd of Brits and Aussies were sold a guided trek through the Mid-Atlantic from a company called Political Tours. Their travel itenerary was to visit the places of "huge battles" in mid-term elections. Please, do not book this trip as your honeymoon. (billypenn.com)
- Um, did anybody let Doug know he lost the Governor's race? Five days after Election Day, he finally conceded. (inquirer.com)
