I-76 Lanes Closing Overnight Next Week In Philadelphia: PennDOT

PennDOT said crews will be working on milling, paving, and other work on a portion of Interstate 76 in Philadelphia overnight next week.

PHILADELPHIA — Interstate 76 will have lane closures next week to accommodate milling, paving, and more work, PennDOT said.

All work is taking place overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, on weekdays, Monday through Friday next week.

Lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between U.S. 1 South (City Avenue) and Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo for milling, paving and guiderail installation from Monday through Friday next week.

Also Monday through Friday, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) to westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for bridge deck and concrete repairs.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to use eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and exit at Montgomery Drive to access westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).

Monday through Wednesday next week, the ramp from Montgomery Drive to eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for paving.

Drivers will be directed to use Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Sweet Briar Drive, Lansdowne Drive and Girard Avenue to access eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).­

And from Tuesday to Friday, the ramp from westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to Montgomery Drive will be closed and detoured for paving.

Drivers will be directed to continue west on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), exit at Belmont Avenue and use eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to access Montgomery Drive.­

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur.
