I-95 Crash Kills Pedestrian In Philadelphia: Reports

A pedestrian who was reportedly in the southbound lanes of the highway was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.

PHILADELPHIA — A pedestrian reportedly died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia Tuesday night.

The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. on the highway between Interstate 676 east and the Market Street, according to Philadelphia officials and NBC10.

A pedestrian was in the road for unknown reasons when they were struck by a vehicle, Action News reports. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Fox 29, the striking driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The decedent's identity has not been released.

Philadelphia officials said the highway reopened at about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday.
