I-95 North Open Again In Philadelphia After Bridge Strike Last Week

PennDOT said Interstate 95 north just is open again at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange after the bridge strike last week.

PHILADELPHIA — PennDOT over the weekend announced Interstate 95 north in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia reopened after a truck struck an overhead Conrail bridge last week.

The highway reopened Saturday afternoon after it was closed at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue exit.

The northbound lanes had been closed since Monday, April 1, after a tractor-trailer struck a Conrail bridge over the interstate earlier that day.

Interstate 95 North approaching the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange was reduced to a single lane immediately following the crash, before the interstate was closed just after 10 p.m. April 1 night for cleanup and repair operations by Conrail’s contractor.
