Interstate 76 Ramps, Lanes Closing Overnight This Week In Philadelphia

Paving and road repair work will force closures of ramps and lanes on Interstate 76 east and west in Philadelphia overnight this week.

PHILADELPHIA — PennDOT said overnight work will impact traffic on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia this week.

Crews will be doing paving and roadway repair work will as part of a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges.

The ramp from westbound Interstate 76 to Girard Avenue will be closed and detoured from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning Monday through Friday.

Driver will be directed to continue on westbound I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive and use the ramp to eastbound I-76 to access Girard Avenue.

Monday through Thursday, a lane closure will be in place on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 and 30th Street Station interchanges for paving, concrete roadway repair, and line painting.

This closure will also be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning.

Lastly, the ramp from Spring Garden Street to westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured for concrete roadway repair Thursday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route to access westbound I-76.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.
