Lanes Closing On Interstate 76 Overnight For 7 Days: PennDOT
Overnight lane closures on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia will impact traffic nightly through the morning of Friday, Oct. 11, PennDOT said.

PHILADELPHIA — Interstate 76 will have overnight lane closures for a week, according to PennDOT.
Roadway repair work will take place at night this weekend and next week under a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges.
Below are details on the lane closures:

- Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning, single and double lane closures will be in place on sections of eastbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 South/City Avenue and I-676 interchanges for accelerated concrete patching.
- Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 between the Montgomery Drive and 30th Street Station interchanges for paving and concrete roadway repair.
- Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-76 to Girard Avenue will be closed and detoured for milling and bridge deck repair. Motorists will be directed to continue on westbound I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive and use the ramp to eastbound I-76 to access Girard Avenue.
- Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Spring Garden Street to westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured for milling. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route to access westbound I-76.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur.

Under this contract, PennDOT’s contractor will mill and overlay I-76 pavement from U.S. 1 to I-676; perform concrete base, shoulder and barrier repair and replacement as needed; construct minor grade adjustments for existing inlets at select locations; replace damaged signs; install new pavement markings, delineators, and rumble strips; and perform bridge repairs.
