Livestream: Pence Speaks Before 'Back The Blue' Police Rally

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Vice President Mike Pence is in Pennsylvania today, where he is slated to speak later this afternoon prior to a "Back the Blue" rally in Philadelphia. The visit is part of a bus tour through eastern Pennsylvania, which started in Lancaster and included a stop in Malvern.

Pence will deliver his remarks at 5:20 p.m. ET at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 in Philadelphia prior to the rally.

FOP Lodge 5 president John McNesby told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Pence will meet with the six officers injured in a North Philadelphia standoff last August, in addition families of officers killed in the line of duty.

Following the death of George Floyd on Memorial Day, protests started in Philadelphia and have continued for more than a month.

In response, Mayor Jim Kenney and the city council agreed to nix a planned $19 million increase in the city’s police budget.

Before traveling to Philadelphia, Pence was slated to join a roundtable discussion at the Rajant Corporation in Malvern. He also attended a fundraiser in Lancaster.
