Longtime Philadelphia Firefighter Dies At 58
Philadelphia Firefighter John Flood, 58, died after his battle with occupational cancer and will be laid to rest Wednesday.
PHILADELPHIA — A longtime member of the Philadelphia Fire Department is being laid to rest Wednesday after he lost a battle with occupational cancer.
Firefighter John Flood, 58, died on Nov. 18.
Flood served the department for 28 years, according to the fire department.

The fire department said Flood also worked as a Philadelphia Police officer for four years.
Flood's funeral procession will begin at 8:30 a.m. B.V.M. School, 9322 Old Bustleton Ave., and travels to Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Ave.

A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Additional viewing hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m.
Flood's Committal Service will immediately follow the Mass.
