Man Dies In Early Morning Crash, Driver Facing DUI Charge: Reports

Authorities allege a woman was driving under the influence when she crashed a BMW, killing the man who was riding in it with her Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA — A man is dead and a woman facing DUI charges after a crash in Northeast Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

According to Fox 29, the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. on the 6600 block of Frankford Avenue.

The driver, a 28-year-old woman, survived the crash, but her passenger, a 26-year-old man, died when the BMW she was driving struck an unoccupied, parked work van, NBC10 reports.

While the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver was hospitalized with minor injuries before being charged with DUI, Fox reports.
