Man Killed After 41 Shots Fired In Kensington Monday: Philly Police

A 55-year-old man was shot multiple times in Kensington early Monday evening by six people on either dirt bikes, motorcycles, or mopeds.

PHILADELPHIA — A man is dead and police are looking for his killers after more than 40 shots were fired Monday evening in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood.

Gunshots rang out just before 8 p.m. at on the 100 block of East Huntingdon Street, police said.

Police got calls reporting gunshots and a shooting.

At the scene, police found a 55-year-old man with gunshots to his neck, chest, and legs. He was pronounced dead at a hospital at 8:22 p.m at Temple University Hospital, police said.

Police found 41 spent shell casings from several semi-automatic weapons on Potter Street at Huntingdon.

There is no word on the motive for the shooting, but said footage from the area shows three people on vehicles that may have been motorcycles, dirt bikes, mopeds, or other two-wheeled vehicles on Potter and Huntingdon.

Two people were on each vehicle, most of whom got off the vehicles, pulled out guns, and started firing at the victim, police said.

The assailants then fled west on the 100 block of Huntingdon on the vehicles, police said.

About eight people were with the victim when shots were fired, but only the 55-year-old man was killed, police said.
