Man Walking On I-95 In Philadelphia Hit And Killed: Police

Pennsylvania State Police said a man was on Interstate 95 north when he was struck and killed. Police said lanes will be close for hours.

PHILADELPHIA — A person was struck and killed on Interstate 95 in northeast Philadelphia Wednesday morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said the incident occurred at 6:06 a.m. on Interstate 95 north near the Cottman Avenue Ramp in Philadelphia.

Witnesses told police the man who was struck got onto the highway from Cottman Avenue for unknown reasons.

The striking driver stayed on scene and is cooperating, police said.

As of 8 a.m. two lanes of northbound Interstate 95 are closed as authorities investigate the incident.
