Mansions Owned By Phillies Owner's Son Abandoned, Vandalized: Reports
The massive, multimillion dollar mansions have reportedly been covered in graffiti and become homes for squatters.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A California mansion belonging to the son of Phillies owner John Middleton has been covered in graffiti and taken over by squatters, according to multiple media reports. It's the second California property owned by Middleton's son targeted with vandalism in as many weeks, after a similar incident occurred nearby.
The most recently targeted property is on 1754 N. Sunset Plaza Drive, and the other is on 7571 Mulholland Drive, CBS News and ABC7 in Los Angeles report.
Both homes — massive, multimillion dollar mansions — have been fully covered in graffiti and, despite security efforts, have become homes for squatters, the reports indicate.

The owner of the properties that have gone into disrepair, Middleton's son John Powers Middleton, is in "egregious violation of the law," local Councilmember Nithya Raman's office said in a statement.
It is not clear why the mansions have sat, essentially abandoned, for so long.

Powers Middleton is a successful Hollywood producer, and won several Oscars for his work on "Manchester by the Sea" in 2016.
In a statement to WPVI, the Phillies said John Powers Middleton is the only family member involved with the properties.
