Martin Luther King Jr Drive Flooded At Montgomery Drive: Report

Heavy rains Sunday night and Monday morning have caused flooding issues in the Philadelphia area.

PHILADELPHIA – A portion of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Philadelphia is closed due to flooding in the area, according to NBC10.

The outlet reports the road is closed between Montgomery Drive and the Falls Bridge.

"Roadway flooding will continue through the next several hours until the water has time to drain. The flood advisory will continue until early this afternoon," the National Weather Service said around 9:30 a.m.

Several major highways reported delays due to flooding, including the Schuylkill Expressway.

Some parts of the Philadelphia region have already received more than two inches of rain.

More rain is possible in the afternoon before the skies clear at night.

Expect cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 40s Tuesday, with sunshine predicted for Wednesday.
